Elm Street Music (ESM)
was founded by Melinda Rhinelander, a classically trained violinist
who now focuses on fiddle music.
ESM students of many ages and abilities, from 6-year olds playing their
first note to adults interested in learning an instrument or rekindling
their dormant musical abilities.
ESM provides one-on-one, semi-private, and group lessons. ESM instructors
work with students to select songs that mean something to them. For example,
some students will gravitate towards learning traditional Irish reels,
while others may incorporate their inspirational music into their lessons.
At ESM, an important goal is for students to not just help them learn
a fiddle tune, but to make the tune their own.
ESM encourages and helps its students to participate in ESM-sponsored
recitals as well as fiddle contests, school music programs, and community
events.
